Life in (and out) of Richmond

We've been out and about a lot this past month for a few day trips. We aren't good about remembering to pack our camera, so we rarely have pictures, but I thought I would at least tell you what we've been up to.

Back on Memorial Day weekend we decided to head down to Marietta to visit Jessica, Skyler and Shane in their new house. Mom and Dad Badger were in town, so Noah got to meet his grandparents. We really enjoyed spending some time with family.

We did post pictures from our trip to the beach. That was just a week or two after we went to Georgia. We headed down with our friends from the ward here. We had a lot of fun playing in the waves and relaxing in the sand.

Our next trip was to Washington D.C. to visit our friends, Dave and Amanda. We stayed with Eric's cousin, Austin, who was a great host! We appreciated his willingness to let us camp out for a night. We wandered the Mall and saw some of the monuments, which was fun. We went to the natural science Smithsonian, too. It was neat to go there because my dad did an internship there when he was in college. On our way to dinner, we stopped in at the Library of Congress, which is so beautiful! I want a library like that someday... We ate at some great places, too--Amanda will have to remind us of the name of the pizza place we went to for lunch, which was delectable. Eric and I are huge Top Chef fans, so it was exciting to eat dinner at Good Stuff, a burger joint a former contestant started. YUM!

Two weeks ago Eric and I celebrated our two-year anniversary! Can you believe it? We treated ourselves to a night out at the Melting Pot (can you tell we love food?). Eric had found a great deal on Restaurants.com for a gift card, so we didn't feel as bad about our extravagance when we ordered "The Big Night Out," which is their four-course meal. It was a fun night and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and being able to chat and reminisce, as well as make some goals for the coming years of marriage. I'm so glad to be married to someone who shares my passions, interests and goals! We're both looking forward to what the future will bring, but we're also enjoying the moment together, too. We're in a really fun phase of life and we know we need to savor it!

This week we decided to make the trip to Pittsburgh to be there for our friend's wedding. It was a whirlwind trip, but it was definitely worth it! The ceremony was simple, but the words were a wonderful reminder of what marriage is really about. Congratulations, Gabriel and Alexia!

Well, that's about it for now! We'll try to remember our camera when we head out on our next trip to the family reunions in a couple weeks!

Sounds like some crazy, good fun. Next up: pure insanity in Amy's minivan.

I just keep thinking about me, the van, and the road...I'm ready.

I got tired just reading that post. I'm glad not to have to do any traveling for awhile. You're all invited here for the holidays!

This is my second attempt to post a comment. I hope it sticks this time. I felt worn out after reading your account of all your travels! I'm glad you're able to see so much while you are back there. And you're training Noah to be a good traveler!

Congratulations on making it two years and still being excited about being married! You're a wonderful couple and I'm glad you both have each other--forever!
