So I know I'm supposed to value hard work and all that, but free things are nice. Eric got a free desk today, and I got a free job. Or, in other words, I got a job that I didn't even apply for. A woman in our new ward knew I was looking for a job, and her office assistant is having a baby soon and is having some complications, so her husband suggested she call me. It's just part time, but it's money coming in (and not going out!).
I had my first day today and it went well, so it should be good. Love you all!
Oh, and btw, the radio stations here stink. I never knew how spoiled I was in Utah.

I love free jobs! Free anything, really.
Yes, Utah has a lot of radio stations. We agree!
Yay!! I'm happy you got a job! (and that Eric got a free desk) :) I wanted to let you know that I've been thinking about your previous post and the comment from your friend a lot this week. In fact, one of those quotes might be going on my wall. :) I love you!
I guess you need an MP3 player or something...And there are plenty of stations on the internet! (Doesn't help in the car though, does it?) Too bad someone stole all your CDs!
Cindy, take it from me-- getting free stuff IS hard work! Enjoy some free stuff that came easily. Nothing wrong with it at all! Congrats on the new job & the desk. What will you be doing?
I'll be doing a good variety of things; none of them are too hard, so the hard part will just be to remember everything. It's a wood restoration business that does hardwood floors and cabinets. I call to follow up with people who have asked for more info, schedule appointments for estimates, schedule jobs, and make sure the calendar is all set. I help make invoices, send thank you cards to customers, put together folders for techs going to jobs, and so on. So I guess I'm just the go-to gal for the boss so she can focus on the things only she can do.
I should also mention that the reason we're especially excited about the free desk is that we've been scouring Craigslist for weeks trying to find one that fit our budget and fit Eric's long legs. It works!
the desk is a blessing. It is huge, heavy, and yellow...hopefully it won't be yellow for long :-)
45 lbs?? maybe dave's close to that, but not me :) he he, just kidding. Nice job on losing weight (not that either of you needed it!)...how did that happen??
We have a food budget for each week...and it wasn't big. Therefore, we are not big.
You make it sound like we starved. I don't know why I lost weight, but I think Eric lost it because he was losing muscle from his job in Florida.
i've been skimming through some of your posts and the one that that i saw as i was scrolling was the comment about the radio stations. It's funny you say that because I think all the radio stations in Utah stink... and most of the ones around here do too, but I just mainly listen to 94.5. Maybe that will cure your radio problems :)
