This is a tribute...to my dad!

(did you know that this picture is from the hospital Web site? Awesome possum)

I love my dad and I thought that I would share some fun memories that I have of times spent with him.

1st. I was there when my dad threw his back out trying to lift the riding lawn mower by himself. He didn't say that he was in pain, he just asked for a pillow and a glass of water. I got him to a chair in the living room (the green rocker for those who know) and he proceeded to pass out from pain...without a sound. I am pretty sure that this qualifies my dad as THE MAN! He feels no pain. End of story.

2nd. I loved going to the hospital cafeteria for lunch and eating cherry cobbler while we talked with the dentist or a doctor that I knew. I loved it. It may not be exciting, but it was awesome to me.

3rd. I always felt that my dad supported me as he watched me play soccer or tennis. He was always cheering me on. I never heard him criticize or critique me and that was wonderful. He has continued to encourage me to do what I want to do. I can't ask for more.

My dad has always been there for me and I never questioned his beliefs because I knew that he was a rock. He showed his faith in his patience and care towards everyone, even the old ladies that like to tell him or me that we're "goin' to hell." :-)

Happy Father's Day DAD! I love ya.

Eric, that just about makes me cry. In fact, I probably would have if you hadn't said that about the old ladies. So I laughed instead.

Ted, you're so blessed to have a so like Eric. And I'm blessed to have him as a son-in-law!
