The time I went to New York and forgot my pants

So Eric is on spring break, so we decided to make a trip to visit David, Jana, Breyton and baby Evelyn in the Bronx. We got up around 4 a.m. on Friday and I hadn't packed yet, so as I was throwing things together, I got so worried that I was going to forget Noah's diapers that I completely spaced grabbing my jeans out of the closet. I had to wear my sweat pants for five days! But we had a really great time anyways; David and Jana were great hosts and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Noah was a trooper for the six-hour drive up.

So we happened to end up in NYC when they had a crazy wind storm with lots of rain, so we spent lots of time bonding in the apartment. The wii Fit provided hours of entertainment.

We'd planned to drive home Monday, but we couldn't imagine heading home without finally getting in some sightseeing (we didn't do any last time we visited, either). So we stayed through Tuesday instead and left Wednesday morning. Tuesday was beautiful weather and we ventured into the city to see the Met and Central Park. Here Noah and I are posed in front of a Monet water lily painting.

Eric in front of Wheat Field with Cypresses, a Van Gogh piece.

I love Van Gogh. No one is in this photo because Eric was currently running to the car to add quarters to our meter.

I love Degas' dancing pieces. I thought it was fun to see an art student there studying the works and drawing them.

Outside the Met.

I took a picture of the car because there's a fun story here. We decided to be crazy tourists and drive into the city (we had our reasons). Eric actually did really well navigating the traffic and I was SO glad he was behind the wheel and not me. But being completely unfamiliar with the city, we accidentally parked 20 blocks from the museum, so we had quite the workout!

Eric and Noah enjoying Central Park.

We were so glad we got a chance to meet up with our friends, Kris and Lydia Wente, for dinner. We found this great little Indian place in the Village.

Lydia's pregnant, so we were all doing our best to get them even more excited to greet their little one. Noah performed well and I am happy to say that our child did not make them change their minds ;)

I was trying to take some pictures from the car, but they were a little blurry. Still, I thought they were decent for being taken from the back seat of a moving car :)

Sorry this post was kind of long; I'm high context. My sister Katy tells me that all the time :) Hope you enjoyed!

How fun! I'm jealous that you got to meet up with Wentes! We want a Wymount reunion too, but nobody is willing to come to Texas :) Hope you're doing well!

When Noah starts walking, then you can start scaring all your pregnant friends.

Sounds like a fun yet very tiring trip. I hope your legs are toned now.

You are fortunate that you have some good-lookin' sweat pants :) It was so fun to see you guys!

I've heard that in New York you could get your pants stolen. It's good you left them at home.

Loved the blog. (I write long ones, too!)
