Anyways, I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect, but as they brought my coworker and me into their living room and asked about where we were from and more about ourselves, I was impressed by the genuine interest they showed in learning more about us. They talked fondly about their experience at BYU. They said their favorite part was interacting with the students--and after chatting with them, I believe it! They were just so nice.
I learned so much. I can't give too much detail here; you'll have to read Bridal Guide to find out what advice they have for couples! All I will say is that I came away with a renewed commitment to use the gospel to strengthen my marriage and a deeper understanding of the importance of regular and frequent temple attendance. Their testimonies of these concepts practically radiated from them as they shared their insights and experiences.
All-in-all, I'd chalk this up as one of my favorite BYU experiences, perhaps only second to when President Samuelson winked at me; but that's a story for another day!

How fun! Although you COULD have interviewed us, they live closer, so I understand. Anyway, so glad you get to do neat stuff like that while you're at school.
Cindy, make sure you let me know hot to get a copy of the Bridal Guide! You are certainly having some great experiences in Provo! Well-deserved, too!
This is very cool, Lou. I'm happy you had that opportunity. I would also like to see a copy of the famous (or infamous?) Bridal Guide. Not that I'm planning on getting married again soon, but it's always good to be prepared. :oP
Cindy, I'd love to see your article when it's available! (David and I need all the help we can get :) The Batemans are fantastic. And I hope I'm cool enough to have a gloriously touched-up portrait done when I'm in my golden years, too. :)
I want to hear about the wink!
