21st Entry

I hope that you have some time on your hands, cuz this is a lengthy post.

So, this weekend was good for me. I went on a double date friday with a roommate. We went lasertagging. Cindy was probably the highest ranked female and my gun's laser wasn't working, so I didn't get any points. Oh well. I still had a good time and I only had to pay for one person. Also, afterwards we got some ice-cream at Sub Zero icecream. It was pretty amazing seeing how they use liquid nitrogen to flash freeze your handpicked ingredients right before you eyes.

Saturday, I bought a game called Neverwinter Nights 2, but it didn't work on my computer and also around that time my driver file for the cd/dvd player corrupted or something so that it didn't appear on my computer and wouldn't work. Frustration that I solved just like I solved it the first day by rebooting the whole thing. I didn't have much on the computer, so I wasn't concerned. I left that alone and Cindy and I went to her nephews' 1st birthday.(yes they are twins). It was good. Afterwards, Cindy and I volunteered our expertise at babysitting so that the parents could go have dinner together. We didn't expect them to come back so soon, but they were tired, so we had an opportunity to go out to eat ourselves. We went to Magleby's on Jordan's Landing. I'm pretty certain that was the 2nd or 3rd time that I've been there in my life. It was enjoyable.

Sunday was a long day. Sunday I went to church and really enjoyed all three hours. It felt rejuvinating. I was working on cleaning the computer up and removing all of the freebee trial stuff when the cd/dvd drive disappeared again. I called up my genius friend and we used the "time machine" of vista (which allows you to reset it to a certain log point, usually an update,) We reset it back a few updates, but it was still corrupt, so we looked online. Mind you, I had already looked for about 1 1/2 hours and was pretty frustrated. My friend, Gabe, found a forum about my exact problem and fixed the necessary code in Vista that would allow it to work forever properly. The cool thing was that he bookmarked the site with the solution and sped the "time machine" forward. That was nice becuase I had worked for a while removing unneccessary trial programs. Plus the bookmark was still there because it was in the future. I felt kinda like the movie "Frequency" had happened to me. So, the problem was solved. Genius, I know. I felt so rejuvinated that I stayed up that night playing Age of Empires III and then reflecting on my life and how I feel about things around and about me. It was good, if not a little depressing becuase there are so many variables in my life right now. I also spent a few hours reviewing several web filters becuase we got the "chastity" talk today at church. I found that the best free web filter out there today is K-9 Protection. It beat the competition by far for its userability/ design and protection. I'm happy with it. I was a little tired getting up on monday, but I didn't have to worry about it becuase it was MLK jr. Day.

Monday felt kinda like a Sunday towards the end......but not. Like Sunday in that it was long, but good. Monday, I wanted to see if I could return the computer game back to the store. I looked up their return policy and it said that if it was opened then I couldn't return it. I anticipated such a thing which is why I had opened it carefully enough to close it back with the sticker as if it were new. I returned it on the premise that my computer didn't meet the min. specs(which it didn't becuase the game was pretty lame and has a bidgillion issues with Vista, and is supported by 2000 and XP only). So, the cool thing about the returning of this game was that I had sold some of my used games to the store for store credit and then payed like $9 to buy it, but upon return I got a full cash refund of $32. Pretty darn cool, b/c I didn't want to buy a game anyways. I watched X-Men III and it was good again.

Then I watched the Democratic Debates on CNN. They were interesting and informative, but I still feel like Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama were acting childishly....but mainly just Mrs. Clinton. Mr. Edwards spoke wisely for the most part and Mr. Obama defended himself well, but the debate could have been better. My suggestion would be that the person in charge of the time limit for each response also be given a microphone kill switch so that delegates could learn how to be Men and Women and not behave like ignoramouses.

I grew dissinterested with the Age of Empires III game today when I came to a mission requiring me to prove myself in 20 minutes. It wasn't that enjoyable, so I stopped. I really wanted to rearrange my apartment's living room and bedroom (we decided that we would change the living room up by placing a desk in the main room and moving my bookshelf to my room. It was enjoyable and therapuetic. I also got to organize my shelves and my junk. I wanted to move the beds around in the room but it got vetoed by one of the 2 roommates who didn't want the hassle.

I felt bad today becuase I felt like I ignored Cindy a little or possibly just didn't give her enough attention in my thoughts. I don't know. The main reason was that I had planned alot of things to do that I can't do with Cindy. That wasn't a smart idea on my part, but I needed to do it and I'm happy feeling like Cindy understood me and saw that I was a little preoccupied with other things today. I still like her a lot and I think that "we" are doing well. It definitely takes work, but I feel like it is worth it and that the work makes it more. I don't know if that is true, but that's a thought of mine.

I have now written my post for this weekend and I'm sorry that it was so long, but I had alot to express and I wanted to post something substantial for you all.

Thanks for making this a substantial post. :) Good read. I see you're taking life by the horns-Gabe style (referring to the game issue).

I remember when you beat all of your older brothers in the 007 Bond game even when they handicapped you with the least effective weapon. When your laser works, watch out! (Everyone else) ;) MOM

That's true, I remember beating them all with the highest handicap and as Jaws or Odd Job. Good times, when I didn't have to give up my controller to anyone.
